AMY LAWRENCE
Amy trained in ballroom dance at the famousFred Astaire Dance Studio in Boston. Amy was also a member of the prestigious MIT Ballroom Dance Team from 2004-2006 where she competed extensively in the collegiate ballroom circuit. With the team, she had the opportunity to study with top professionals such as Armin Kappacher, Larinda McRaven, Russell Monk, Istvan Cserven, and Mark Sheldon. With her dance partner, Amy quickly climbed the ladder of the collegiate ballroom circuit placing in the finals in all categories of International Ballroom and Latin styles.
Amy was a featured dancer in the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade featuring dancers from Dancing with the Stars! It wasn't long before Amy caught the eye of instructors from the Fred Astaire Studio, first in Boston and then New York, where she taught for several years. She now teaches exclusively in her hometown of Los Angeles.
Amy has been involved as a dancer in a number of films, including the short film"Understudy" starring Jeannine Mason, the winner of So You Think You Can Dance?. Amy continues to share her love of ballroom dance to dancers of all ages through her teaching in the heart of Los Angeles.
